Barcelona

Sweets at the market.
Park Guell
Casa Batllo
Barcelona is amazing. Our hotel is just off La Rambla, a very vibrant street, always full of people, market stalls, restaurants , shops. We have visited three of the famous architect Antoni Gaudi's works,  Casa Batllo, Park Guell and Sagrada Familia. His architectural designs inspired by nature are amazing. We also did a trip to The monastery at Monserrat in the mountains.

Still having problems with photos. We have now picked up our campervan & thanks to our GPS managed to find our way out of Barcelona okay. We have set up camp just out of Ordesa National Park & plan to do some hiking tomorrow.
A typical narrow walkway in Barcelona.

Cinque Terre

We arrived in Monterosso 4 days ago after three train journeys from Naples. The train from Naples to Rome reached 295kph.
We have loved our stay here doing many of the trails between the villages. Seeing houses of many colours built on rocks that drop sheer to the sea or perched on hills, terraced slopes on reclaimed land contained by drystone walls.  The terraces were used to create space for the cultivation of grape vines, olives and fruit. We have certainly climbed up and down many stone steps!

Isle of Capri

On our last day on the Amalfi Coast we  took a ferry to the Isle of Capri and did a small boat tour around the island. We saw interesting land formations, including stalactites and stalagmites. Being in a small boat we were able to go into several grottoes, with the most amazing water colours. I went into the blue grotto in a dinghy in which I had to lie on the bottom as we entered because of the small entrance.
